Boris Poplavsky

Boris Poplavsky The Russian poet Boris Yulianovich Poplavsky (1903-1935), known to his contemporaries as the “Russian Rimbaud,” emigrated from Moscow to Paris at the age of eighteen. His promising literary career was cut short by an early death from a heroin overdose, but he is now gaining a widening readership among Russians. The prose poem “Time is a Liquid” is from an archive of his manuscripts discovered in 1998.
