Robin Hemley When not dispatching from Manila, Robin Hemley can be found advocating recess for all (with or without “Zombie Death Ray” games). The author of eight books of fiction and nonfiction, including most recently, DO-OVER (Little, Brown), he is the editor of Defunct Magazine, founder of the NonfictioNOW Conference, and Director of the Nonfiction Writing Program at The University of Iowa. Jeff Mermelstein

Jeff Mermelstein Jeff Mermelstein, the son of Holocaust survivors, was born in 1957 in central New Jersey. His books include SideWalk (Dewi Lewis Publishing, 1999), No Title Here (powerHouse Books, 2003), and Twirl / Run. He is the recipient of an Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship and The European Publishers Award For Photography. His work has been published in many magazines including The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Artforum, Aperture, and DoubleTake. His photographs are featured in the collections of The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The International Center of Photography, NY, and others. Mermelstein is represented by Rick Wester Fine Art, and lives with his wife and son in Brooklyn, NY.
