Gene Tanta has published 4 chapbooks of poetry: Satellite Wishes (2001, Mexico), You’ll Blow Away (2001, Romania), Unusual Woods (2008, Chicago), Pastoral Emergency (2008, Binghamton) and one chapbook of translated Romanian poems, The Last Psalm (2006, Chicago). He earned his M.F.A. (2000) from the Iowa’s Writers’ Workshop and his Ph.D. (2009) from UW-Milwaukee in creative writing with a literary specialization in twentieth-century American literature; European avant-garde; films, essays, and poems of protest. His poems have appeared in journals such as: The Laurel Review, Indiana Review, Exquisite Corpse, Ploughshares, and Epoch. He teaches, writes, makes visual art, and lives in Chicago.
