Philip Rush works as an English teacher in Gloucester, England. His poetry has been published in magazines including The Rialto, The North, and Smiths Knoll and in several books, including Carcanet’s New Poetries IV. He won the Ledbury Poetry Festival prize with his poem “Percebes” and has read at the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival. He plays the fiddle with ceilidh band Between the Acts. In October 2009, his first full collection, Big Purple Garden Paintings was short-listed for the Aldeburgh First Collection Prize.
