The Spiderboi Files, a “choose-your-own-gender” graphic novel. Initially inspired by kari edwards’
a day in the life of p., each piece began as a cut-up poem, borrowing from found and overheard language, which was later inked onto a panel and folded into a palm-sized zine. The project chronicles my relationship with gender and the early stages of my gender transition. One of my aims was to confuse my gender variance and trans-identification with consumer culture’s promise of providing the power to choose and create identity.
