e. keene
e. keene received her BA in English from the University of Iowa (after attending RI School of Design, acting and dancing on the east coast, and serving as artistic director for several dance companies). Since earning her M.F.A. in UI’s Nonfiction Writing Program in 2009, she teaches English Comp, yoga, edits now and then, choreographs, and is spearheading a free writing workshop for veterans. She prefers writing about Iowa (although, if pressed, she’ll admit she’s been working on a screenplay titled, Paradise Rewritten: Lucifer’s Memoirs). Other essays have appeared in The Iowa Review, The Southeast Review, Two Hawks Quarterly, etc. Though lonely, Ms. Keene promises to read Ulysses (once winter ends in the Midwest) to the sparrows, finches and cardinals.
