Balli Kaur Jaswal

Balli Kaur Jaswal grew up in Singapore, Japan, Russia and the Philippines. She studied creative writing at Hollins University and George Mason University. In 2007, she won the David TK Wong Fellowship at the University of East Anglia, where she spent a year writing her novel-in-progress, When Amrit Returns. Her short story “Painters,” published in Rosebud Magazine, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2008. Currently, she works as a journalist in Singapore.
