Born in 1981, Li Qing graduated from the Oil Painting Department of China Academy of Art and now lives and works in Hangzhou. As one of the most active young artists in China, he first came to the fore with the Finding Differences Series (diptych) in 2005. The images of Mutual Undoing and Unity Series and other explorations in the realms of video, installation and photography afterwards earned him wider attention. An Interview, one of his recent works, furthers his exploration of the collision between the noumenon of painting and its viewers. His works have been exhibited at Hanart TZ Gallery (Hong Kong), Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Japan), National Gallery of Indonesia, Shanghai MoCA, Kunstwerk Carlshütte (Germany), São Paulo Museum of Contemporary Art (Spain) and Biennale Di Venezia.
