When I’d just gotten Feng Na’s poems published in this last edition of Drunken Boat, Trump had won, which meant something very new for a group of people among which I count myself — diasporic or overseas Chinese, people who’d decided, after being told for twenty years that there was a string hitched to our feet, to see where that string ran from.
