Charles Hobson uses monotypes and printmaking variations to construct images for books and works on paper. He has been a member of the faculty of the San Francisco Art Insitute since 1990 and his work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the New York Public Library, the Whitney Museum and the National Gallery, among others. Usually following literary or historical themes, his work have covered topics as diverse as famous couples who met in Paris (Parisian Encounters) and Mark Twain’s imaginary diaries of Adam and Eve.
