Zoe Strauss is a lesbian anarchist from Philadelphia, PA.

These images, made between July 2010 and September 2010, come from the first leg of a long-term project concerning the BP environmental crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. The project began as the oil spill entered the second month of unfettered gushing into the Gulf and, if possible, Strauss will continue to photograph the American Gulf coast periodically over the course of the next 5 years.
