Purvi Shah was born in Ahmadabad, India. She serves as Executive Director of Sakhi for South Asian Women, a community-based anti-domestic violence organization in NYC. Her first poetry book, Terrain Tracks (New Rivers Press 2006), won the Many Voices Project prize.
