Jeannine M. Pitas is a poet and Spanish-English translator who has working on Uruguayan literature since 2006, when she received a Fulbright grant to translate the work of poet Marosa di Giorgio. Her five-book compendium of di Giorgio's work, I remember nightfall, will be published by Ugly Duckling Presse in late 2016. She currently teaches at the University of Dubuque in Iowa.
