With the recently published DB 21, we welcome issue number 20 to the enormous and lovely pool of vintage works from which each week's vintage selection is drawn. Which is why this week's post is right out of our last issue's collection of poetry: Meg Day's "Hymn to Landlocked God."
"Perhaps as a boy
you, too, saw
these stallion clouds
& knew a sky
with no blue
was a sky too
reverent to be
overlooked
or understood."
Meg Day is the author of three books of poetry including most recently, published in 2014, Last Psalm at Sea Level. Recipient of the 2015-2016 Amy Lowell Poetry Traveling Scholarship and a 2013 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Poetry, Day has received numerous other awards and fellowships.
