Laurence Petit is an Assistant Professor of Contemporary British Literatureat Central Connecticut State University. A native of France, she taught English literature as a “professeur agrégé” at Université Lumière-Lyon II, France, before receiving her doctorate in Contemporary British Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has published several articles on text and image in the fiction of Anita Brookner and A.S. Byatt, as well as translations of theoretical essays by George Bataille and Pierre Bourdieu. She is currently translating two books on text and image by French Professor Liliane Louvel.
