Gilles Esposito-Farèse is a theoretical physicist at the Institut d'Astro-physique de Paris. An expert of gravity and particle physics, his current interests include cosmology, high-level post-Newtonian expansion, binary pulsars, and the study of models that modify gravity at great distances. For an example of recent research, visit the arXiv website. In addition, he writes constraint-based Oulipian poems in French, many of which are published on his own website. He is also a graphic artist who designs ambigrams in his spare time (some of which have been integrated into the pages of this special Oulipo feature), as well as pinacograms, portraits built from the letters in a subject’s name, like the self-portrait included above.
