Shelley Marlow is the author of a novel about a drag king, Two Augusts in a Row in a Row. Marlow's essay Notes in Kyzyl, about visiting shamans in Siberia, appears in the St. Petersburg Review, issue #3. Anne Wolfe wrote in New Pages about Notes in Kyzyl, "Shelley Marlow's true story of self-discovery takes one on a trip further out of the ordinary, bending one’s mind more than much fiction." Marlow's visual art was recently published in LTTR journal, The Literary Review, and Zingmagazine. Marlow recently received a grant from the NY Department of Cultural Affairs, Queens, for organizing and performing in Witches Work, at the Outpost and a grant from Poets and Writers for Bedtime Stories, a literary event at Le Petit Versailles Garden, NYC.
