Andrew McCallum

Andrew McCallum lives in Southern Scotland. Writing in both Scots and English, he has been three times shortlisted for the McCash Scots Poetry Prize, is occasionally (and reluctantly) published/broadcast at home and abroad, and is a ‘weel kent face’ around the fringes of the festival circuit. He has held residencies at two prisons, an eye hospital, an art gallery, a primary school and one of Edinburgh’s peripheral housing estates. He is convener of his local writers’ group and secretary of the Brownsbank Committee, which curates the former home of the poet Hugh MacDiarmid and sponsors the Brownsbank Writing Fellowship.
