Singing by Numbers

Laura Steenberge works in the fields of music and cognitive science as a researcher, contrabassist, guitarist, pianist, singer, and composer. Her musical interests lie in folk songs and experimental instrumental and choral music. She also works extensively with young children as a language acquisition researcher and folk music performer. She lives in Los Angeles.

Catherine Lamb is a composer interested in microscopic color variances in (mostly) narrow spectrums of sound. She also performs sounds on her viola (and occasionally her voice). She is interested in the psycho-physical-aural phenomenon moving in and out of presence, as a being moving in space. Hidden sounds made visible in moments of time relative to human measurement. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California where she teaches and explores these things with others.
