Jedediah Purdy

Jedediah Purdy’s A Tolerable Anarchy is the last in a trilogy of books on American political identity. The other two are For Common Things and Being America. He has also written for The Atlantic, The New York Times Book Review and op-ed page, and Die Zeit, among others. The author of many essays and articles on environmental, constitutional, and property law, he teaches at Duke Law School and lives in Carrboro, North Carolina. He is now at work on a history of environmental politics and consciousness.
