Jessica
Harkins
teaches at the College of St. Benedict / St. John’s University
and earned an MFA in poetry and a Ph.D. in English literature at
Washington University. She lived for several years in Italy, where she
first began the project of translating and recovering Gaspara
Stampa’s complete poems. Her work has appeared, or is appearing,
in Stand, Agenda (Broadsheet 6), Salt Magazine, ARS Interpres, Baybury Review, Estero, Forum Italicum, Redactions, and Fire. She is a native of rural
Oregon, and currently lives in Minnesota with her husband, horse, and
dog.
