Brian Joseph Davis
is a sound artist and writer based in Toronto. LA Weekly recently wrote “Davis has an amazing head for aural experiments—creating expansive compositions out of found sounds and computer manipulations—that are smart on paper and fascinating in execution.” Four years of Davis’ work was recently collected in the CD/catalog The Definitive Host (Blocks Recording Club). It includes the internet project 10 Banned Albums Burned, Then Played and Voice Over, a story written using only film taglines (from 5,000 different films) then read by a professional voice over artist. Davis has written for Arthur Magazine, Utne, and is the author of Portable Altamont (Coach House, 2005) and I, Tania (ECW 2008) which Slate.com called, “The book of your fever dreams.” For more information, visit brianjosephdavis.com.
