Caleb Powell was born in Taiwan, and has also lived and worked in South Korea, Guam, Thailand, The United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Brazil, and Argentina. He is the author of The World is a Class, a guidebook for teaching English overseas, and a novella, This Seething Ocean, That Damned Eagle. In 2007 he shortlisted a novel in the William Faulkner – William Wisdom Writing Competition. Recent work is published or forthcoming in descant, elimae, The Pedestal Magazine, Yankee Pot Roast, and others.
