Richard Deming is a poet and a theorist who works on the philosophy of literature. His poems have appeared in such places as Sulfur, Field, Indiana Review, and The Nation. He is the author of Let’s Not Call It Consequence (Shearsman 2008). With Nancy Kuhl, he edits Phylum Press. Currently a lecturer at Yale University, he is also the author of Listening on All Sides: Toward an Emersonian Ethics of Reading (Stanford UP, 2008). He is a frequent contributor to Artforum.
