Satyendra Srivastava was born in India. A well-established writer in Hindi, he has published many collections of poetry, plays, articles, and travelogues, all in Hindi. He has also published four collections of poetry in English: Talking Sanskrit to Fallen Leaves (Peepul Tree), Between Thoughts (Samvad), Another Silence (Samvad), and Sir Winston Churchill Knew My Mother (Ambit Books). Following his retirement from Cambridge University where he lectured for twenty-five years, he has traveled to South Africa, Japan, Kenya, Zambia, Malaysia, Thailand, Russia, Canada, USA, Brazil, Cuba, and India, among other countries, lecturing and reading his poetry. He has also received several awards for his writing.
