E.V. Ramakrishnan was born in Kerala, is a bilingual writer who writes poetry and criticism in English and Malayalam, his mother tongue. Author of eight books, his most recent publication is Terms of Seeing: New and Selected Poems (2006). He is professor and chair of the English department in South Gujarat University, Surat, India.
