Miho Nonaka is a native of Tokyo, Japan. Her first book of Japanese poems Garasu no tsuki was a finalist for the Nakahara Chuya prize in 1999. She received her MA from Harvard University, MFA from Columbia University and her PhD from the University of Houston. She is a professor in the English department of Eastern Illinois University.
