Kunwar Narain was born in Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh) in 1927. He has published six collections of poetry, short stories, literary criticism, plays, and translations of Cavafy and Borges into Hindi. He has been translated in many languages; his honors include the prestigious Hindustani Academy and the Sahitya Academy awards.
