Si. Mani was born in 1936. A retired professor of English, now living in Salem, India, his research has been in linguistics and Tamil grammar.One of the “New Voices” poets who is featured in the literary journal, Ezhutthu (Letter), his collected poems Ithuvarai was published in 1996.
