Mong-Lan,
poet, writer, visual artist, and Argentine tango dancer, left her native Vietnam on the last day of the evacuation of Saigon. Her books include Song of the Cicadas (winner of the Juniper Prize and the Great Lakes Colleges Association’s New Writers Awards for Poetry), Why is the Edge Always Windy?, Love Poem to Tofu & Other Poems, and her latest, Tango, Tangoing: Poems & Art. A Wallace E. Stegner Fellow in poetry for two years at Stanford University and a Fulbright Fellow in Vietnam, Mong-Lan received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona. Honors include a Pushcart Prize and inclusion in the Best American Poetry anthology.
