Period of Grace
Circled fingers of the Buddha’s hand Delicate with determination
as juicy succulent dhamma fruit like the full ripe moon
Buddha’s footsteps spreading knowledge Treading the center of destitute suffering
As dhamma refreshing cool Extinguishing suffering every time
Nights and days that pass by As feelings transformed follow
Flutter, dizzy, and frightened chaotic all the time
That never pauses, resistant that is one’s own
The night that is smoke and the day that is desire
Long waiting and darkness dwelling there without end
Circled fingers of the Buddha’s hand writing with determination
Inscriptions of dhammic sermons satisfying every heart.
