Ajanta whose birth name is Penumarti Viswanatha Sastri, was born in 1922 and he worked most of his active life as the editor of the Andhra Prabha, a Telugu daily. His highly acclaimed book Svapna-lipi came out in 1993, though Ajanta remained outside the massive literary and political movements of his time. He passed away in 1998.
