Aisha Sabatini Sloan is originally from Los Angeles. Her work has appeared in The Sierra Nevada Review, Ninth Letter, The Southern Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Callaloo and Guernica, where she is a contributing editor. Her book of essays, The Fluency of Light: Coming of Age in a Theater of Black and White was published by University of Iowa Press in 2013.
