Bernard Magné is Professor Emeritus at the University of Toulouse Le Mirail. He has published numerous studies of Georges Perec, including Perecollages (1982), Tentative d'inventaire pas trop approximatif des écrits de Georges Perec (1993), Georges Perec, Cahier des charges de La Vie mode d'emploi (in collaboration with Jacques Neefs and Hans Hartje; 1993), and Georges Perec (1999). He also edited and presented Pochothèque, Georges Perec, romans et récits (2002).
