Shawn Micallef

Psssst. Modern Toronto just wants some respect.

Shawn Micallef grew up in Windsor, Ontario, an industrial town across the river from Detroit. Since heading up the 401, he attended the Canadian Film Centre's Habitat New Media program, where he co-founded the location-based cell phone documentary project [murmur] that is spreading through Toronto neighbourhoods as well as other cities (www.murmurtoronto.ca). Shawn writes the Stroll column in Eye Weekly, and sometimes writes for nice publications like the Globe and Mail, Maisonneuve Magazine and Broken Pencil. He is an editor at Spacing (www.spacing.ca) and a co-founder of the Toronto Psychogeography Society, a group of flâneurs who drift through and explore Toronto, sometimes living to blogabout it (www.psychogeography.ca).
