Nyoman Suadin
provides musical direction
for Gamelan Mitra Kusuma. Born in Tabanan, Bali, in 1964, he was
trained at KOKAR, the Conservatory for the Performing Arts. He teaches
regularly at Swarthmore College, Eastman School of Music, and Bard
College. With Mitra Kusuma, he acts as conductor, musician, composer,
dancer, and choreographer for the group. He has made numerous recordings
and received nearly a dozen awards for music and dance from the
prestigious Bali Arts Festival.
