Silvia Guerra was born in 1961 in Maldonado, Uruguay. Her most recent books of poetry are Pulso (Amargord, 2011), Estampas de un tapiz (Pen Press, 2006), and Nada de nadie (Tsé-Tsé, 2001). She is also the author of Fuera del relato (Bassarai, 2007), a fictionalized biography of Lautréamont. Her book Replicantes Astrales won the Municipal Prize in Poetry in Montevideo in 1992, and in 2012 she was awarded the Morosoli Prize in Poetry for her career.
